This concept was presented for the Oregon State University RecCenter’s Centennial events, which consisted of an evening party, recognition dinner, and tailgate. After researching OSU’s brand and getting a feel for what the department believes in, I incorporated OSU’s strong reputation for developing a sense of community, belonging, and meaningful purpose. 

Client: University of California, Student Recreation Center, Ropes Program

A client wanted a logo for their yearly middle school summer camp program. I chose elements that represented the local area plus chose colors from the school's pallette to create this design.

REC IT DEPARTMENT TEMPLATES (Refreshed)

CLIENT: University of California, Riverside Recreation Department

PROJECT: The Rec It campaign had a successful 4 years and it was time for a refresh! These templates were used to promote all university recreation programs (Aquatics, Outdoor Excursions, FitWell, CookingWell, Ropes, Competitive Sports) to improve program unity, department branding, and to streamline production processes.

CLIENT: University of California, Riverside, Student Recreation Center

PROJECT: My task was to design the university’s recreation mobile app while staying within the confines of the Fusion Recreation Software interface. The design is user friendly, visually appealing, and intuitive. Users would be able to quickly find upcoming classes, outdoor trips, facility hours and more.

Client: Elkhart County Community Members

Inspired by women entrepreneurs in my hometown, I spearheaded The Support Local project. The goal was to increase the online presence of businesses owned or managed by women in Elkhart County, Indiana.

The project was funded by the community using a crowd funding site. I managed fundraising, the creation of promotional materials, design of websites, creating online branding, adding their businesses to google maps and other mapping sites, and adding businesses to online review sites.

CLIENT: Chef Val, Cooking Well Program at the The University of California, Riverside Student Recreation Center

Part of a 26 page recreation guide for the UCR Student Recreation Center. Each program area is color coded, student photos emphasize energy and fun, and the design was meant to be simple and clean. The guides are changed every 3 months to reflect class offerings each quarter. This page, for Cooking Well, had a hand drawn header, and colorful photos.

CLIENT: National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) Western Region

PROJECT: The city of Riverside, California hosted a regional conference for recreation professionals and needed a design that represented the Inland Empire. I created these pieces that referenced post-industrial murals, art deco, citrus labels, and scenery from inland SoCal.

CLIENT: Competitive Sports, University of California, Riverside Student Recreation Center (SRC)

PROJECT: If the client wants a turkey riding a bike with swimming goggles on, then that is what they shall have! Using skills I obtained earning my BA with an emphasis on illustration, this project was in my wheel house and really fun. The CS team loved the final design and finalized this logo, t-shirt design, photo back-drop, bibs for the triathlon participants, and a perforated bingo card that was professionally printed inside of the SRC’s quarterly magazine.

PROJECT: Creating a logo is always a great opportunity to show off your skills. Here are a few designs created for The University of California, Riverside Student Recreation Center who wanted a logo that either represented their Highlander pride (Bear), or an image that represented the unique architecture of the facility, or any other fun ideas I had along the way! Here are several concepts presented to the team.

Client: University of California, Riverside Student Recreation Center

Pop 'Til You Drop, a world record breaking attempt, where I designed this bright and playful layout to attract students to relieve stress, pop bubble wrap, and visit the grand re-opening of the recreation center. I designed fliers, posters, cement graphics, banners, lawn signs, t-shirts, and giveaways. I worked with local vendors to produce printed materials and solicited sponsorship for the event.

WROLC is an annual collaboration of university outdoor programs in the west that began in 1991. The conference is regularly attended by university outdoor programs from California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Utah, Arizona and beyond. I designed around the theme of WROLC 2020, Empowered by Nature. The conference is focused around outdoor enthusiasts believe contact with nature leads to improved mental health, lower stress levels, and enhanced cognitive skills. This theme encompasses the value of diversity, equity, and inclusion of both current and future generations, for all. Working within the theme of diversity, WROLC provides all participants an opportunity to develop leadership skills, deepen our knowledge of outdoor and experiential education, develop partnerships, and expand our programs’ capacities at the regional level.

CLIENT: I was thrilled to design a logo for university youth summer camps who was working on a collaboration with NASA. The client wished to see elements such as trees, science, nature, camping, or s’mores in the design. I provided three options, which the client loved! And he chose the beaker design to use on merchandise for upcoming youth summer camps. You can see the final design, tshirt mockup, other options presented to the client, and my hand drawn sketches. I always begin my projects by sketching with paper and pencil.

CLIENT: University of California, Riverside Recreation Department

PROJECT: Create templates that represent all university recreation programs (Aquatics, Outdoor Excursions, FitWell, CookingWell, Ropes, Competitive Sports) to improve program unity, department branding, and to streamline production processes. I created two designs to be chosen (by vote) by UCR students and recreation professional staff. The implementation of these templated designs decreased production time resulting in quicker turn-around time.

CLIENT: Heart and Goal is a consulting business focused on helping parents, educators and caring professionals build resilience skills through mindfulness and self-compassion. Co-owner Angela and I were acquainted through our passion for recreation and yoga. I was excited about her work with students and educators and I asked her how I could help. She was looking for someone to design a logo for the business and I jumped at the chance to help! The Heart and Goal team asked me to design a logo that incorporated a spiral (like a nature helix or phyllotaxis) into the design and the were drawn to purple and gold colors.  The design had to be clean, simple, warm, professional and natural. 

Client: The University of California, Riverside Student Recreation Center and Wellness Partners

UCR Love Week included free events for the mind, body and spirit. I initiated Love Week to promote events happening during the week of Valentine's Day on February 14th at the UCR recreation center. I worked with a creative team to construct hand made flowers to give to UCR Students along with small pins to "gift" to a friend. The campaign included an Instagram photo contest, printed pieces, digital signage, email marketing, and giveaways.

CLIENT: University of California, Riverside Recreation Department

CLIENT: The University of California, Riverside Student Recreation Center Marketing Team

PROJECT: A guide was needed for a creative marketing team for reference and yearly training. I created a handbook that included policies, procedures, missions, goals, and more.

I always sketch out my work before I design. You can see how similar the sketches resemble the final product.

CLIENT: U.S. Army Europe Regional Library

PROJECT: The U.S. Army Europe Regional Library wanted a new logo before launching their new website. As the main library branch representing 42 other U.S. Army libraries in Europe, they wanted a clean and professional design. After several sketches, this logo was meant to resemble a leaf that a "book worm" had taken a bite out of.

CLIENT: Center for Intercultural and International Education, Goshen College

PROJECT: The new Center for Intercultural and International Education wanted to make their current web page more visually interesting and to clearly highlight each of the two programs: the Intercultural program and the International program. In collaboration with the CIIE staff and the Communications and Marketing team, we created animated web banners that highlighted enrollment information to showcase its diverse student population who had real world experience.

CLIENT: Installation Management Agency Europe Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Sports and Fitness

PROJECT: The promotional items created for this event included fliers and posters distributed to all U.S. Army sports and outdoor recreation facilities all over Europe and newspapers advertisements in the European Stars and Stripes.
